The Best of Barcelona Bridal FW 2014

Share This On:

For 23 years, Barcelona has conducted an annual fashion week completely devoted to bridal fashion. Though you may not have considered looking for wedding inspiration on the other side of the world, Barcelona cooked up some gorgeous looks that would make Vera Wang nervous. Here are our two favorite designers from the just-concluded Barcelona Fashion Week 2014.

Veering from Victorian to ultra-modern, the YolanCris collection had an array of looks to fit many wedding themes. There were also many retro-styled dresses, catering the trend to buy vintage or antique wedding dresses.

The line is run by sisters Yolanda and Cristina, who grew up in the bridal boutique that their mother managed. Their 2014 collection was shown against a golden backdrop depicting the inside of a beautiful ballroom, and it wasn’t hard to imagine the gowns of such caliber gracing such a setting.

Rosa Clara

While still maintaining the classically femininity traditional to the bridal aesthetic, Rosa Clara ventures into today’s most trendy subtleties and incorporates them into her dresses.

With the 1920’s and 30’s inspiring much of the collection (dropped waists, feathers, beading), she exemplifies much of today’s favorite aspects of vintage dresses. The collection was stunning to say the least. Clara also showed some surprises, including a wedding dress with pants underneath.
